Mr. Carlson has a B.A. in religion from the College of William and Mary. He served as Vice-President of Communications for Prison Fellowship Ministries (PFM) since 2003, at various times in charge of public relations, interactive media, and print communications. He began his career with PFM in 1988 as a speech writer for the Vice-President of Justice Fellowship and was instrumental in the development of Restorative Justice theory. For more than a decade, he was editor of Jubilee, PFM’s award winning newsletter, and senior editor of Inside Journal, PFM’s in-prison newspaper. In 2006, he was asked by Chuck Colson to serve as editor of Colson’s daily “BreakPoint” radio broadcast. Ten years later, Carlson remains in that role, seeking to carry on Chuck’s teaching and legacy through radio, internet, and social media. He recently oversaw the editing of “My Final Word,” a collection of previously unpublished memos from Chuck Colson. David and his wife, Julie, have four grown sons and live in Fairfax, VA.
