Episcopal Church Faults Bishop For Biblical Orthodoxy

10/7/20

John Stonestreet

Last week the Episcopal Church found Bishop William Love guilty of defying church orders because he told his clergy not to recognize same-sex weddings. He’s violating a church order adopted by the Episcopal Church in 2012 – incredibly recent for a church more than 200 years old and a faith more than two-thousand years old.

This new order declares same-sex marriages part of Episcopalian orthodoxy. Bishop Love, pointing to the documents that govern the church disagrees.

What’s at stake here is the theme of a new book by apologist and former recording artist Alisa Childers. In Another Gospel: A Lifelong Christian Seeks Truth in Response to Progressive Christianity, Childers confronts and dismantles progressive reimagining of Christianity. This month, we’ll send you a free copy of Childers’ book for a gift of any amount to Breakpoint and the Colson Center. Come to breakpoint.org to get your copy.
