Reflections on the Coming of Christ

Sunday marked the first day of Advent, a season of preparation, repentance, and reflection on the promises made by God to His people. Advent us way Christians prepare to celebrate the first coming of Christ and remember the promises that He will come again.

My Colson Center colleagues have prepared a very special devotional, with reflections on who Christ is revealed to be in Advent: the Wisdom of our God Most High, the leader of the House of Israel, the Root of Jesse’s stem, the key of David, the radiant dawn, the King of All Nations and, of course, Emmanuel . . . God with us.

This devotional is based on the Scriptures that inspired the remarkable Advent hymn, O Come, O Come Emmanuel. phrases, all from Isaiah.

Come to BreakPoint.org to download a free copy of this beautifully written and illustrated devotional called “Emmanuel! Readings for Advent.” Again, that’s BreakPoint.org.
