Tua and Trevor for the National Title

Et Tua, Trevor Lawrence? Alabama is in the college football national championship game ... again … with their star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Last year as a freshman, Tua rallied the Crimson Tide to a come-from-behind victory against Georgia—and then told a national television audience: “I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. With Him all things are possible.” This year, Tua and Alabama take on familiar foe Clemson, whose starting quarterback is also a freshman—Trevor Lawrence. Tua and Trevor have something else in common. They both know what’s most important in life. Football, Trevor Lawrence said recently, doesn’t define him. “I put my identity in what Christ says, who He thinks I am and who I know that He says I am.” Now, I’m not an Alabama or a Clemson fan, but come Monday night I’ll be rooting for both of these impressive young men who aren’t afraid to stare down 300-pound defensive linemen, or to speak humbly and sincerely about their love for Christ on college football’s biggest stage.   Image: YouTube
