The Point

The Point: What’s Your Calling?

What’s your calling? We’ve just wrapped up an amazing Wilberforce Weekend, where we talked about calling: especially our call to be people who create, who confront, and who care. We heard from former Popeye’s CEO Cheryl Bachelder, Joni Eareckson Tada, Fr. Robert Sirico of the Acton Institute, and many more. You can hear their incredible talks on the BreakPoint Podcast over the next several weeks. But how about you? If you haven’t discerned your callings—whether you’re a recent graduate or in mid-career—don’t tie yourself in knots. Relax, trust God, and do the next thing well. As Catholic writer Jacque Phillippe has said, too often, “we spend so much time searching and doubting” about our long-term calling, “we neglect things that are God’s will for us every day.” Things like prayer. Faithfulness. Loving our neighbor in the next tangible way. If you don’t have answers yet about the future, “prepare to receive them by living today to the full.” And please register for next year’s Wilberforce Weekend at a deep discount, at WilberforceWeekend.org.
