Rachael recounts the enormous obstacles that she and abuse survivors face when they try to expose the truth: in Rachel’s case, stonewalling and outright opposition from powerful institutions—Michigan State University, USA Gymnastics, law enforcement, and even her own church.

She also talks about how institutions can—and how some have—taken responsibility to expose abuse and to begin the process of healing for victims.
