It used to be said, when Britain’s colonies were spread across the globe, that the sun never set on the British Empire. It was a reference to Britain’s greatness, but a better measure was the people that it could produce: a Shakespeare, a Churchill, a Thatcher.

What Britain is producing today makes me think it’s quarter til midnight.

Some British lawmakers are objecting to a UN treaty currently being debated that would prohibit the execution of pregnant women. Why would they object to this? Because Her Majesty’s government claims the word “women” “excludes transgender people who have given birth.”

Well, to borrow a phrase, you don’t appreciate sanity til crazy shows up. Remember the British headlines about a “man giving birth” that was about a woman who had paused gender reassignment in order to get pregnant? Who needs reality when you have ideology?

And as one feminist told the Times of London: “This isn’t inclusion. This is making women unmentionable.”
