Think worldview doesn’t matter? For the Colson Center, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.

Here, my friends, is the logical and utterly evil conclusion of the secularist worldview. University of Chicago biologist Jerry Coyne recently wrote the following: “If you’re allowed to abort a fetus that has a severe genetic defect, microcephaly, spina bifida, or so on, then why aren’t you able to euthanize that same fetus just after it’s born?”

“I see no substantive difference,” Coyne continued.”

Well, in a godless, random universe like Coyne believes in, humans are cosmic accidents, so there is no substantive difference in their value—in utero or out.

Coyne blames religion for resisting infanticide by seeing humans as “special.” When religion “vanishes,” he predicts, then “so will much of the opposition to both adult and newborn euthanasia.”

Well, Nazi Germany proved distinguished professor Coyne’s prediction years ago.

As offensive as they are, thinkers like Coyne are valuable: they show exactly where atheistic worldviews lead, where the culture of death comes from and what it will look like.
