As best defined, the pro-life movement aims to make abortion not merely illegal but unthinkable, swept into the dustbin of history along with legalized slavery, child sacrifice, and other evils. This means learning to see differently those often considered burdens.

Back in 2017, Special Olympian Frank Stephens testified before Congress: “I am a man with Down Syndrome, and my life is worth living.”

In the U.S., babies born with Down Syndrome are aborted 85% of the time. Yet according to a 2011 study, which Frank cited in his testimony, children with Down Syndrome, as well as their friends and family members, rank significantly higher on levels of happiness and personal fulfillment.

Advocates of abortion claim to limit suffering by killing the sufferers. Every premise of that idea is wrong.

As Frank said elsewhere, “I want to fix the fact that sometimes people don’t always look at us with love. … When you fully get to know us, that’s when you can fully learn to love us.”

Well said, Frank.
