From Haiti to Venezuela to Puerto Rico and now to the Bahamas, celebrity chef Jose Andres and his World Central Kitchen feed the hungry when disaster strikes.

This time, as described in the Washington Post, Andres made it to the Bahamas before Hurricane Dorian, to help the locals prepare for the worst.

While the Post article details different aspects of his work, it skips the key point of the story: Andres’s motivation.

As Andres told CatholicExchange.com, “My faith has a lot to do with my life,” he said. “I was raised in a Catholic family that was always helping and feeding people.”

Which is exactly what chef Andres is doing now.

And that’s also what hundreds and thousands of other Christian individuals and organizations do whenever catastrophe hits.
