When Michelle Williams accepted her 2020 Golden Globe for best actress in a limited series, she went on and on about how grateful she was to live in a country where women could access abortion. And the audience cheered.

Without this so-called, “right to choose,” Williams said, she never could have achieved all of her Hollywood success. And the audience cheered.

The whole chilling display turned the euphemism, “I’d give my firstborn to be in the movies,” into a devastating reality.

Williams then bizarrely claimed women should be able “balance our lives knowing as all mothers know that the scales must and will tip towards our children.” Except, for the children aborted, perhaps?

Williams’s speech is the most poignant example in recent memory that our pro-life efforts cannot be limited to making abortion illegal. It must be made unthinkable. And the reaction to her speech is the most poignant example of how difficult this task remains. Lord, help us.
