The Point: Georgia Has a Heart for Life

On Tuesday, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed a law that protects the life of the unborn once a heartbeat is detected. That effectively prohibits abortion after about six weeks. As reported by WORLD magazine, the law has exceptions—"rape and incest, danger to the life of the mother, or if the baby could not live outside the womb due to medical problems.” Georgia is now the fourth state with a so-called “heartbeat law.” The ACLU immediately announced plans to challenge the law in court, which Georgia pro-lifers anticipated. One of these four laws may very well be the ultimate challenge to Roe v. Wade in the Supreme Court. Which, again, is why so many blue states are racing to pass unrestricted abortion laws and even enshrine abortion in their state constitutions. We can’t say this enough. The battle to protect innocent, preborn human life has moved to the state level. We need all hands on deck. Do what you can to make sure your state defends life.     Download an audio mp3 file here.
